Why choose A-1 Servomotor for your Servo Repair Needs?
What can we do for you?- We can take the hassle out of your servo rebuild needs. We can help you keep your equipment running longer and more reliably through quality rebuilds. When your system goes down, we help you get back into production sooner by expediting your emergency rebuild needs. We can help you keep your customers happy! Back to TOP
Why should you use our services? - Because we know what we are doing. We have the knowledge necessary to rebuild a device correctly the first time. If you have ever used a regular motor repair shop for servomotor rebuild, you no doubt understand just how important it is for the repair facility to have an in-depth understanding of servomotors.
We are not in the same business as the typical "motor repair shop". We specialize in servo devices and have designed our facility to meet the demanding needs of the servo rebuild function. We have the unique tools and test equipment necessary for servo repair. Also, we have the ability to re-magnetize servo motors to ensure optimal performance. There is no need to send your motors back to the OEM, pay a premium price, and wait weeks to get your motors returned... Send them to us! Our customers include motor repair shops, OEMs, motor manufacturers, distributors, equipment repair companies as well as end users. There is always the possibility that the company you are currently using for repair is actually sending your motor to us for rebuild! Back to TOP What have we done for others? - In a word, HELP. We have helped our customers by making their motors last longer. In fact, our motors last as long as new ones, and sometimes longer. We have saved our customers time and money by reducing failure rates (MTBF) and other costs associated with down time. We have helped our customers meet deadlines by providing prompt service while maintaining high quality.
Over the years we have found ways to improve the performance of numerous servo devices. If we see a recurring problem, we evaluate the failing component(s) and find a way to improve its performance or longevity. With the customer's approval, we engineer the change and follow-up to insure success. Our goal is to provide you with a total rebuild that is superior in every possible way! Back to TOP Testing...- Every device is tested both statically and dynamically to insure proper operation. Encoders, resolvers and tachometers are adjusted to the correct timing, waveform shape, offset position, voltage level, etc. Every effort is made to reduce stray electrical noise to the lowest possible level, if not eliminate it completely.
Electrical parts are tested for high voltage leaks, shorts, grounds and overall physical condition. Motors are tested for vibration, current draw, back EMF, torque, temperature rise, shaft runout, keyway condition, balance, acceleration rate, magnetic field strength, magnet position and mechanical integrity, brush spring pressure, correct brush compound, etc. On low inertia motors, start/stop ramps are tested to verify acceleration capabilities. Completed motors are run-in for 24 hours (except emergency rebuilds). Back to TOP Why do we re-magnetize all motors?- It is important to understand that once a servomotor, stepper motor or tachometer has been taken apart for repair, it will usually not work properly again until the magnetism is restored to its proper level.
The signs of weak magnets or improper magnetism are low torque, high current and/or intermittent failures. We know how to solve these problems for you. We have the drivers and the fixtures necessary to re-magnetize almost any motor you send us. If a fixture does not exist, we will design and build one to do the job. We don't just re-magnetize a motor and hope it's right. We have the test equipment necessary to do the complete job. We check the flux density and pattern throughout the total magnet assembly to insure that you get the maximum torque the motor was designed to produce. Back to TOP Our Quality - Quality is the backbone of our company. Without quality we would not have survived since 1982. We have the ability to rebuild servo devices and make them last because we give quality the HIGHEST priority.
Upon arrival, all servo devices are completely disassembled. Each component is then individually inspected and, if possible, tested mechanically as well as electrically. Worn or defective parts are either replaced or rebuilt to original specification. As each device is assembled, tests are performed at every possible step. Once totally assembled, every device is tested before it leaves our facility to verify that it meets or exceeds OEM standards. It is this attention to every little detail that adds up to an overall quality rebuild. We do not measure quality by the aesthetics of a device; it's what's inside that counts. We believe that quality emerges through attitude, desire, and attention to every single detail. We strive to make quality happen every time. Back to TOP Technical Support and Our Experience... - A-1 Servo has the experience you are looking for. We have over 80 years cumulative experience in the rebuild of servo devices. Since 1982, we have rebuilt more than 60,000 servo devices. We rebuild devices that are manufactured by over 500 different companies. It is highly likely that we have successfully rebuilt the specific type servo motors you use in you operation. We have rebuilt just about every type motor and feedback device on the market today, and they work the first time!
As a customer, a simple telephone call or email to our company will get you the technical support that other rebuild groups either can't provide or choose not to provide. We have the experience and detailed understanding to help you differentiate between driver failures and motor failures. We make every effort to assist you in correcting the problem as quickly as possible. Back to TOP Pricing... - Every device is evaluated to determine the exact failure and the rebuild work that must be performed to bring the unit up to an "equal-to-new" condition. We do not do "quick-fix" repairs! Every device is completely rebuilt to insure it will perform like a new unit. Therefore, our price could be slightly higher than the typical motor repair shops, but should always be lower than the OEM cost. Once we establish the rebuild cost, you will be contacted for approval. If you choose not to have the device repaired by us, it will be promptly returned to you or the rebuild facility of your choice. Back to TOP
Warranty - Our warranty is simple: Every device we rebuild has a minimum 90-day warranty that covers parts and workmanship. However, we understand that a motor may sit on your shelf unused (as a spare) for longer than 90 days. Consequently, our warranty time is based more upon our evaluation of the motor and its condition rather than the exact date the rebuild was completed. Our objective is to be fair. This statement in no way modifies or changes in any way our official warranty. Our official warranty is available upon request.
Back to TOP 24 Hour Turnaround Service - Someone SCREAMING for immediate repair? We fully understand that turnaround time is always a consideration. We try to accommodate your needs by being as flexible as possible. When you have an EMERGENCY for a MACHINE DOWN, we provide an EXPEDITE OPTION that will typically get your device rebuilt the same day it is received. However, if we must order a part from a vendor, we are forced to get in line with everyone else and are therefore limited by the vendor's response time. The good news is that this delay accounts for only a very small fraction of the emergencies we process. We have a well-equipped machine shop capable of reworking worn parts, fabricating new parts or upon request, making modifications to your existing equipment.
We've been in business since 1982 providing a quality rebuild service for high-tech electromechanical devices. All work is Guaranteed! Back to TOP
