Upon
isolation of a recurring fault, we can offer suggestions to
increase your servo's mean-time-between-failures. With your
approval, we will design and fabricate the engineering change
at our facility. Our experienced staff will work closely with
you every step of the way. Quality control is assured because,
in most cases, our complete metal shop allows us to fabricate
the recommended modification in-house with little or no outsourcing
required.
Custom
Modifications/Alterations
A-1 Servo has a complete machine shop capable of modifying
or altering servo motors to meet your specific needs. This
is not a "job shop." Like our servo motor repair operation,
our machine shop is committed to nothing but the repair, modification
and alteration of servo devices.
Unlike
typical machine shops, our operators have an in depth knowledge
of servomotors. While a good machine shop may have the ability
to accomplish specific machining, it is seldom that they understand
anything about a servo device.
Most
machine work requires that the servo be disassembled before
machining can begin. This usually takes special tools and
fixtures to prevent damage to the motor components - tools
that a "job shop" will not have. We have the custom
tooling and fixtures necessary - our facility is specifically
designed for rebuilding servomotors.
In addition
to special tooling required, most servo motors have very strong
magnets that require special handling. Welding near strong
magnets requires special techniques to properly accomplish
the weld and prevent permanent damage to the magnets. Our
machinists have the experience needed to modify or alter your
servo devices while protecting the integrity of the servo
itself.
